Day
01 -
You
will be flying to the Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu
Upon
arrival you will be greeted by one of our airport representative at the arrival
gate. He will help you get transferred to the Hotel. There are no planned
activities for this day, so you can check into the Hotel and relax.
Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 02:
Drive to Pokhara (910m) Duration: 6 hrs
Today,
you will get up early at around 6:30 am, and meet your guide at the hotel. You
will then go to the bus station from where you will board the tourist bus to
Pokhara that leaves at around 7:30 am. This mesmerizing journey is dotted with
scenic natural backgrounds all along the road trip which is is quite dramatic.
You will see rivers as the bus drives along valleys, crisscrossing the vast
hills cutting across the cascading rice terrace farms. Upon arrival, you may
check in at the hotel and relax. In the evening, you can also enjoy boating on
the beautiful Phewa Lake, renowned for its reflection of the Machhapuchhre
Mountain. Overnight at hotel, breakfast included.
Day 03 -
Drive to Phedi and trek to Pothana (1,925m) Duration: 4 hrs
Your
day begins with a quick breakfast. After that we leave Pokhara city, for Phedi
and start the trek to Pothana. As we get going beautiful natural environment
catches our attention. It gives us a serene peaceful feeling, only to find
ourselves covered around with thick natural groves and lush hamlets of woods. At
Pothana you will stay in a tea house
lodge for the first night.

Day 04 -
Trek to Forest Camp at Kokar (2,600m) Duration: 4 hrs
From
Pothana, we will be walking up to a place called Pitam Deurali. From here, you
will divert away from the main Annapurna Sanctuary trekking route and follow a
quiet trail through a dense forest of oak, maple and rhododendrons. Tonight, we
will be staying at one of the lodges at a Forest Camp, also known as Kokar as
the locals call it. The lodges at Kokar are quite basic and are more of a home
stay. Besides it is an opportunity to get to know the friendly family from
Siding Village.

Day 05 -
Trek to High Camp (3,600m) Duration: 6-7 hrs
This
day begins with an upward trail that takes us from Forest Camp to the High Camp
through the dense forests. Ascending through the trails, we get to see
rhododendrons and trees covered in moss and lichen. Here we take time to rest a
bit and have lunch at Low Camp whilst enjoying the splendid view of Mr.
Machhapuchhre.
Next
we make an interesting ascend from the low Camp, the trail then takes us west
towards the amazing views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli Himal. We’ll continue
on the Mardi Himal ridge where we’ll be greeted by the beautiful rhododendron
bushes. We gradually arrive at High camp where the views of Annapurna south,
Hiunchuli Himal and Mt. Machhapuchhre are breathtaking.

Day 06 - Day
walk to Upper view point (4,200m) Duration: 4 hrs
This
is a special day that awaits us in the horizon. We will be rising early to view
the sunrise amidst the mountains. We than take an instant breakfast, and make
way towards the Mardi Himal ridge. It is a well pronounced trekking trail that
takes us through the grass covers that contains a couple of steeper sections. Here,
to your amazement you will come across dzos (yak/ cow crossbreds) grazing in
the thick pastures, as well as Danphe pheasant making weird sounds amidst the
fields.
Besides
that you are likely to pass a number of herder’s huts along the way. After
three hours, of trekking you are most likely to reach the Upper View point at
4,200 meters; this is from where the views of the Annapurna Sanctuary becomes
quite ominous. The panoramic view of the mountain massif of the Annapurna is
also spectacular.

Day 07 -
Trek to Siding village (1,750m) Duration: 6 hrs
It
is day of back trekking, where we will take a different route, completing a
circuit. From the Low Camp, we have two distinct trekking trail, one leads us
straight down to Siding village, and other leading towards Kokar. We take the
path that leads to the Siding Village.Siding is a traditional Nepalese village
and is situated away from the busier tourist treks. Once here we will be resting
at a home in Siding.

Day 08 - Trek to Lumre and drive to Pokhara (910m) 3 hours walking and 2 hours’ drive
We
will be leaving Siding behind and head towards Lumre. All along the way from
Siding, you will pass the villages of Kalimati and Ghalel. Kalimati is mainly a
Brahmin village while Ghalel and Siding are both occupied by ethnic mix of
Brahmin and Gurung people. At Lumre, you get into a jeep and drive back to
Pokhara.

Day 09 -
Pokhara to Kathmandu
Today
is a day of mixed feelings as you will be bidding farewell to the Annapurna
Mountains. After having a quick look you will be driving back to Kathmandu by
tourist bus, which takes approximately 6 hrs.

Day 10 -
Farewell/Departure
This
is the final day of your Mardi Himal trekking journey in Nepal. Approximately 3
hours before the scheduled flight, a representative from Mission Nepal Holiday
Team will safely see you off to the airport from where you will depart. You
will be taking back immortal memories of Nepal and Mardi Himal Trekking with
you.
