Illogical, mythical and exaggerated it may seem, defying all thoughts, aspirations expectations this is an astonishing truth. Heard many a times in folklores, illustrous books and other revelations, but never expected to be a nail biting reality. Yes, this is an extra ordinary tale of air personnel who transformed himself into a Mahayogi to seek salvation and spirituality. 

The beginning of an extraordinary human being

It all started way back in the year 1938. On 15th of July Raj Tapeshwari Devi of Sasaram, Bihar gave birth to a sparkling soul. Unaware of that fact that in the following years this child would enlighten mankind with his sparkling spirituality. From the very beginning he showed signs of being someone very different and special. He gracefully completed his education and obtained Masters Degree in Organic Chemistry from the Banaras Hindu University. 

A Passionate Patriot – a true warrior

His endearing passion to serve the country above all the religions, made young Kapil join Indian Air force. He got commissioned as a fighter pilot in year 1957 in the highly acclaimed Indian Air force until 1972. During his tenure he was a part of the historical 1962, 1965, and 1971. Though his first love was serving his motherland and its people, a change in his life was about to unfold soon.

A dramatic turning point

Never in his career, had he ever imagined that being an established fighter pilot, was he meant for something else. In those years he met Hari Baba, who later on would become is spiritual master or guru. Hari Baba would often ask for two rupees as and when he appeared before him from nowhere. 

The war of 1962 was significant as while flying at the NEFA border, his plane lost the controls and contact with the base. Aghast and perplexed he did not know where to land the plane. The authorities at the base had lost all the hopes of fighter Kapil’s survival. The world of wing commander Kapil had virtually come to an end, all his hopes gave away. By the passing of each second life was diminishing quickly for Kapil. However this was the turning point of his life. Hari Baba out of nowhere miraculously appeared to Kapil in his cockpit and guided him to land the plane.

This phenomenal occurrence came as a turning point in young Kapil’s life and he decided to give up his service. He took premature retirement from Air force in pursuit of seeking spiritual salvation through penance 

Quest for Spiritual Self and beyond

The mystery of his Guru’s appearance fresh in his mind brought him closer to understanding the prowess of life. His quest and intense desire to unveill the mysteries of Human mind, soul, was intense. This made him renounce the worldly pleasures at a young age of 33.His ultimate destination being Himalayas. He travelled extensively in Himalayas for years and found Pindari Glacier as his final frontier for engaging in a severe penance. 

For 16 grueling years his home, his life, his journey for self was within the Himalayas. It was here high above in the bosom of the Himalayas that he met ageless masters like Mahavtar Babaji, Sarveshvaranandji, Sunder Nath babaji. They poured unto him their valuable wisdom about life, its sequential formations and truth. However under the able guidance of his spiritual master  Hari  babaji, he discovered the sacred science of Samadhi through mediation and Kriya yoga.

The so called Wing Commander Kapil was by now was a transformed soul known as ‘Somnath Giri’, name given by his master. In the later years, when his mysterious occurrence, feat and existing came into light he was fondly revered as Pilot Baba.

A master of five worldly elements of Samadhi

Pilot Baba has the spiritual powers beyond body and mind and is in complete unison with the cosmos which is rare and uncommon. Mahayogi Pilot Babaji can be in complete unison with the five elements of the body and through them experiment various kinds of Samadhi. BHUMIGAT SAMADHI (UNDER THE GROUND SAMADHI), a state when a yogi is in complete unison with the earth element both within and outside the body.  Be it a Samadhi in an air tight glass chamber or the Jal Samadhi or Samadhi in Water. Babaji has demonstrated all such samadhi’s more than 100 times in India, as also many a times abroad, particularly in Japan.

Mahayogi's message of oneness

Baba is a Mahayogi who has made his own life an adventure, and traveled around the globe with the message of Oneness through the science of meditation and Samadhi. His guidance is there for one and all. He does not believe in binding masses with him but guides them to be an individual, who are competent and have been bestowed with knowledge and ability to set on the journey of ‘Self exploration’.
